Latest Updates from Our Project:

Final 24 hours!
over 9 years ago – Sat, Oct 31, 2015 at 01:07:40 PM

Thanks to all of you we are well over our goal and hurtling towards our first stretch goal at $25,000: Printed end papers with Ed Bourelle's "R'lyeh Triangle" map!

The map is already available as one of our add-ons for $25 but we'd love to see it grace the end papers of The Book of Starry Wisdom itself.

As we enter the final hours of the campaign I wanted to take a moment to share a couple of other projects that I think are worth your consideration. I've met so many other talented, motivated, and brilliant creators through this project I'd like to be able to help give back to them.

First, I hope you'll take a look at Afraid of Everything: Horror Stories for All Ages. Inspired in part by Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (a book that had a tremendous influence on my love of horror as a child), this collection is beautifully illustrated and full of fun stories.  I hope it will haunt the dreams of the next generation of demented cultists.

Finally, I've mentioned Brett Miller's Oath of Dagon album and art book before, but man, I really want to see this funded and in my hands. This guy shreds, and artist Marcelo Orsi Blanco is conjuring some brutal kvlt imagery. $20 for their full album + interactive art book is a steal. \m/ /|\(;,;)/|\ \m/

That's it for now as we enter the last 24 hours of the campaign. Thank you so much for your continued support and deranged enthusiasm. Happy Halloween!

New Add-on: Poster map of the R'lyeh Triangle!
over 9 years ago – Tue, Oct 27, 2015 at 05:41:15 PM

This map of the South Pacific charts the coordinates given by Lovecraft in his Cthulu-related stories, indicating points of importance and the possible location of R'lyeh itself. Created by master cartographer, Ed Bourelle of Skeleton Key Games, this map is available as a beautiful poster print or as a digital download. These prints will be signed and numbered and suitable for framing.

While the map will also grace the end papers of The Book of Starry Wisdom if we hit our $25,000 stretch goal, I wanted to make it available independently. These maps will make wonderful and mysterious decorations to your living room, altar room, and also be fantastic handouts for Cthulhu-oriented roleplaying games...

Thanks so much and I hope you dig the map as much as I do!

One week left! Also: Rifftrax Thanks and the Oath of Dagon!
over 9 years ago – Mon, Oct 26, 2015 at 09:24:16 AM

We've had a tremendous weekend for pledges, thank in large part to our friends at Rifftrax! Weekends are typically very slow days for Kickstarters as most people pledge while they shop online at their work computers, so, welcome to all of you riffers who came out in support of Valerie Herron's amazing art. For those who don't know, Valerie illustrated the Sharknado t-shirt for Rifftrax's Kickstarter earlier this year. Behold!

So, once more, thanks to everyone at Rifftrax and our fellow fans! I've been a tremendous fan of both Rifftrax and MST3K growing up, so your support is like a moist, overeager hug from Torgo himself.

In other news, I wanted to share a blog by one of our contributors, Thom Truelove. Thom is providing one of two epistolary-style submissions to the book, and he shared a few thoughts weeks ago that I have been neglectful in sharing.

I also want to share another Kickstarter I've been following for a few weeks. As many of you know, I love metal almost as much as I love the Great Old Ones, so this project is right up my alley. Sign the Oath of Dagon now!

Before I wrap up this post, I wanted to again thank you all and share how excited I am to be nearing funding! We have a full week to go and at our current rate we should fund days before the campaign closes, so stretch goals are definitely still on the table! In fact, I'm currently proofing something related to a stretch goal that I'll be sharing tomorrow in the form of a new add-on which I think is going to be really exciting.

Thanks again, and please keep sharing the project with your friends. We're almost there!

Forgetfulness or Death (more free music!) and final reminder for tomorrow's Seattle event
over 9 years ago – Fri, Oct 23, 2015 at 02:04:19 PM

As another great funding week comes to an end I wanted to once again thank you all for your support and again remind anyone in the Seattle area that I will be hosting a night of Lovecraftian films at the Ray Gun Lounge, tomorrow night, 10/23, at 7 PM. Details here.

Valerie and I will be giving out a few prizes for the best Lovecraftian costumes in attendance. Hope to see many of you there!

And before I go, I wanted to share another piece of music from Mr. Zoth and the Werespiders. This is another advance track from the album that will be free to all backers when we fund! I dig this one a lot, kind of an Erik Satie in Carcosa thing to it.

Listen now: Forgetfulness or Death

Thanks again for supporting The Book of Starry Wisdom and continuing to share it with your friends, families, and fellow cultists.
